On Fire, Mr. Fireman

Dear Readers:
Everything in our life has changed and I have been allowing bits and pieces of our changing lives as we transition from Touring the country with musician types to staying at home with normal types..
Well, scratch that. No one we hang out with is quite normal. Except you, Mom. You are soooo normal. (And I learned all my “normalness” from you.)
But, here we are with our lives changing overnight as Biceps pursues a career in fire fighting. Don’t worry, he’s not throwing in the towel on writing music and what-not. He just found a career that suited his fancy and still allows time for music.
And I thought you should have an up close and personal look at my man. In his fire fighting outfit.

Because he’s hot.
Every pun intended.

Fun with Mustaches

I just love the advances in technology.
Now, if a hip wears out-you can get a fancy new plastic one. You can laser your eyes to see 20/20. If you don’t like your boobs, chin, butt or anything else, you can pay to make them look better.
You can also make babies in test tubes, see a new planet from the comfort of your computer chair and watch as scientists grow an ear on a rat’s back.
And, you can put mustaches on anyone’s face, just by using your iphone and an app called “Stachematic”.
I am not getting any sort of kick-backs, money or otherwise for this post. I just like this ap. It’s funny. And I wanted to share it with you.

Hello, Mustachio Mom & Dad.

Mustachio’d Grandma.

Mustachio’d other Grandma, Dad, and Uncles.

And Mustachio’d Bianca.

I love technology.

They grow up so fast…

I have known this lovely lady since she was at the tender age of five. She used to draw pictures of me-usually sitting atop her favorite animal-a horse. For some reason, I always had a really big head in her pictures….maybe she was on to something.

But now, she is graduating from high school and has on more than one occasion reaffirmed that I am old.
Of course she’s joking, because I’m obviously not old.
I gently remind her that I am just older than she is-which means that I am wiser than she is.

She was a pretty easy subject to shoot-which made my photography day.

I love when my subjects can be easily directed, have no skin flaws, and laugh at all my stupid jokes.
This was my favorite shot of her, because it was so her.

She could then turn on a dime and be super serious and pensive. She was good at the pensive shots.

Mom, Dad, and the little lady were happy with the outcome of our last minute photo shoot.
Now, if only I could get her to draw me one more of those big-headed pictures of myself, sitting atop a horse. My fridge has been bare for awhile and it would make my day.
Hint, hint, little lady. Hint, hint.

The 2011 Christmas Photo Reveal!

By now, those of you on the gigantic “Greiman Christmas Card List” have received your 2011 Christmas Photo.
If not, you have lazy postal workers.
Or perhaps-I have the wrong address.
At any rate, you shouldn’t have to wait any longer to feast upon such photographic magnificence.
And without further ado: Here is our 2011 Christmas Photo.
(If you would like to see past year’s photos, check out Christmas Cards.)

Let me fill you in on some of the details.

My Pippi Longstocking hair has floral wire interlaced throughout my braid.
Bicep’s Lederhosen are courtesy of a $30 thrift store purchase in Minneapolis.
I own the Germanic dress, courtesy of a $1 purchase at my favorite local thrift store in Tulsa.
The “backdrop” is a rug purchased from the flea market, and currently resides in our breakfast nook.
The beer was real and heartily consumed.
The mustache is not.
The inspiration was from God.
Amen.

(Again, if you would like to see past year’s photos, check out Christmas Cards.)
