Spam Praise-My favorite Comments

Spam is annoying. But, I have a new thing where I try to see the positive even in the most mundane, annoying tasks that I have to perform every day. Including the “Select All”, “Delete Permanently” action that I routinely go through to rid my inbox of spam.

To see the positive side to this, I thought it would be fun to share some of the most recent and ridiculous spam that I’ve received lately. (Along with my pictorial interpretation of what the “writer” was saying-and my response to aforementioned “writer”.)

Commenter: We have only had these wow gold two weeks and that i convey them just about each and every day! They can be exceptionally manner. I really like the design and excellent wow gold

Me: What exactly is “exceptionally manner”?

Commenter: celandine elitism shuffleboard heada jhelisa remastered aukin trubus obligatory

Me: That guy in the middle does look a little “elitist”, but does that necessarily make him obligated to play shuffleboard?

Photo Source-Movie, “A Fist Full of Quarters”

Commenter: HAHA… WHAT A LIST OUSTANDING…
I would have included
DONKEY KONG
POLE POSITION and
PAPER BOY

Me: Why didn’t I think to include them?

And my favorite:

Commenter: yes! completely true- you suddenly feel like you’re flying for about a milisecond

Me: I do love that feeling.

Guess who’s back?!

Dear Readers:
Unbeknownst to most of you, Biceps has been out on tour for the past two weeks. I like to keep quiet about such adventures-knowing the internet can be a creepy place sometimes. But in less than thirty minutes, I will get to see this sweet face again.

I spent Saturday morning cleaning, grocery shopping and getting prepared for his arrival. I think it’s the anticipation of his return that thrills me to no end.

I have a roast in the crockpot for dinner (“supper” if you are from Iowa), fish set out for lunch (“dinner if you are from Iowa), snacks galore for in between (pretty sure the same nomenclature in Iowa) and of course-some IPA’s for him and some wine for me.

Soon enough, he and his suitcase will be home where they belong. Stinkin’ up the joint, but looking so cute doing it.

Welcome home, Biceps.

Vintage Bubble Dishes & UPS

My adorable parents sent me 10 boxes in the mail while “stationed” in Phoenix helping Grandpa downsize. It felt like Christmas morning when I happened to go to my front porch to grab some basil, and there was a gigantic stack of boxes with my name on them.

(You couldn’t knock, UPS man, and let me know? Geesh. I found out soon enough the quality of the UPS delivery man, however.)

Granted, most of the boxes had broken dishes in them. Thanks, UPS.

However, a few survived.

And they were gorgeous. My Grandma had good taste.

Enough survived that I could at least entertain with.

My Grandma passed away while my family (and I) were still living in Germany. I really never got to know her. I don’t have much from her, except a few pictures and a quilt she made for me as a baby.

But, now I have dishes that she once used. Or, at least the ones that weren’t smashed to smithereens.

And I am in love. I can’t wait to have a party and put these dishes to good use.

“New” Vintage Bubble Dishes seem like a good excuse to have a party. But really, any excuse is a good excuse for me to have a party.

So, who wants to come over?

The Double Rainbow-A Double Covenant?

This morning, I woke up to a smoky gray sky, the rumblings of thunder, lemon yellow clouds and this…

Um. Hello.

“Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.” Genesis 9:16

“Like the appearance of a rainbow in the clouds on a rainy day, so was the radiance around him…

…This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard the voice of one speaking.” Ezekiel 1:28

I pretty much fell face down while enjoying the rainbow from my front yard. Yes, I was overwhelmed with God’s covenant and His glory, but I must be honest. It was mostly because I had the camera plastered to my face and stepped in a disguised hole left by a removed tree.

But hey-call it what you will. Worship. Clutziness. God loves me no matter what. He gave me a rainbow this morning just to prove it.
